Shelly Elliott, LCPC

Shelly is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor who earned her master’s degree in counseling from the Adler School of Professional Psychology in Chicago. She works with children, adolescents, adults and families.

She began her career working in an inpatient setting with children and adolescents. Since then she has worked and consulted in several therapeutic day schools as well as in the private practice setting. Shelly has worked with children and adults dealing with a range of issues including anxiety and depression, ADHD and autism spectrum disorders. Areas of interest and specialization include anger management, social skills, grief, anxiety and utilizing mindfulness and other body-centered approaches to foster a safe therapeutic environment.

Shelly is a Registered Yoga Teacher and has completed iRest yoga nidra level 1 meditation training. She incorporates breathing exercises, guided imagery, meditation and yoga into her work with her clients. She believes in a collaborative approach and encourages working with families, schools and other outside providers. Shelly focuses on the strengths of her clients and uses cognitive techniques, humor, and creative play and projects to help clients discover their own strengths and build confidence. She aims to provide a nurturing and supportive environment so that her clients feel safe addressing their emotional needs.

The need for care and connection is greater than ever during these unprecedented times brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.  While we cannot meet people in person, we are currently offering secure video or phone sessions that many insurance companies have agreed to cover due to the unique circumstances.
