Caroline holds a Masters in Social Work from Smith College School for Social Work in Northampton, MA with a thesis concentration in assessing children and adolescents for Post Traumatic Stress. Caroline has been practicing Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) in the mental health field since 2001. Prior to clinical practice at The Center for Contextual Change (CCC) she worked as an outreach mental health counselor for schizophrenic adults in Northampton, MA in addition to two years as a contingency social worker for the emergency department on the child protective services team at the hospital formerly known as Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago, IL.
Caroline has been working at CCC since 2006 and believes strongly in the value of the Collaborative Change Model in recognition of how inextricably linked people are to their environments while helping clients access and build on the unique areas of mastery and strength each inherently possess. She welcomes clients of all ages and has experience working with individuals who struggle with a wide range of symptoms and diagnoses including but not limited to: Depression, Acute and Post Traumatic Stress, ADHD, Bipolar Disorders, Life Transition Stress, Grief and Loss, Anger Management, Divorce and other mental health issues and diagnoses.
Caroline is currently facilitating a DBT group for adults on Thursday evenings from 6-8pm and holds basic training certification from EMDRI in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing). She also holds certification in teaching yoga to children and incorporates mindfulness, yoga, dance, movement, music, art and song with adult and youth clients as they feel comfortable and led to do so in the collaborative process of designing customized treatment plans.
“It is an honor to witness the courage and resilience along with many other resources each person brings to the sacred work of healing, growing and actively cultivating positive change in life. I am ever humbled by the heroism of so many of my clients, and consider myself a studied guide with a strong desire to help others tap into the resources they bring and inherently hold in order to make adaptive and sustainable positive change each wants to see in life.” — Caroline
