Joanna Mulder, LPC

Joanna Mulder holds graduate degrees in Mental Health Counseling and Creative Writing. She received her clinical training at the Center on Halsted, where she worked with individuals and groups using a strengths-based, trauma-informed, and LGBTQ-affirming approach. She has worked in both community mental health and private practice settings, helping people with depression, anxiety, grief and loss, identity exploration, and addiction.

Joanna believes in the power of narrative and the importance of examining the stories we tell ourselves about our lives and experiences. She takes a collaborative approach to addressing clients’ concerns, helping them identify and develop their coping strategies, external resources, and relational supports.

The need for care and connection is greater than ever during these unprecedented times brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.  While we cannot meet people in person, we are currently offering secure video or phone sessions that many insurance companies have agreed to cover due to the unique circumstances.
